Paul Espinoza IIIBSA Climbing Director/InstructorBSAONBELAY Chairman |
|
Paul has been technical climbing since the early 1970's in Joshua Tree, Taquitz/Suicide, Yosemite, Castle Rock, Parris Lake and Mt. Rubidoux just to name a few areas. He has always been grateful to those who took the time in the early years to teach him the art of safe climbing. He began teaching others in entry level rock climbing during those early years. In the mid.90's he was asked to help organize Girl and Cub Scout climbing outings for his daughter's and son's packs. and then troops. So he was already educating Boy Scouts in climbing, when the call came to become a BSA qualified Instructor for his son's troop and then for Old Baldy Council as Council Climbing Director. He was instrumental in building safe climbing programs for Old Baldy Council, the San Gabriel Valley Council, and the California Inland Empire Council, as will as teaching at the National Camp school Climbing Director Program. He volunteers his services to scout troops from Ventura to San Diego and as far off as Las Vegas and Utah. He continues to serve as the bsaonbelay chairman and troop outing coordinator as well as the new training officer and course director for the SGVC climbing committee programs. |
